ESAD So Long Old Favourites Blog Hop

Hello & welcome to the ESAD, So Long Old Favourites blog hop.

For today’s post I’ve chosen to focus on 3 of the retiring In Colours, Powder Pink, Berry Burst & Fresh Fig, along with some of the retiring Circle punches, which are indeed old favourites of mine.

Stampin’ Up! Retiring In Colours 2019 – Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig

As you can see both of my cards feature clean & simple designs that let the colours & shapes shine.

The top card was created by using the retiring Powder Pink, Berry Burst & Fresh Fig A4 Cardstock, that I die cut with the Delicate Lace Edgelits, before layering them onto a Whisper White card front & base. I finished the card of with some of the delightful Shimmer Ribbon in Powder Pink, which is also retiring…I’ll be sad to see it go, as it’s such a pretty ribbon with just the right amount of shimmer to it. If you like shimmer but pink isn’t your thing, then don’t forget the Shimmer Ribbon also comes in Basic Black, Pear Pizzazz & Pool Party, but only until the end of May (while supplies last).

Stampin’ Up! Retiring In Colours 2019 – Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig

The bottom card was created by again using some of the retiring Powder Pink, Berry Burst & Fresh Fig A4 Cardstock, but this time I used a variety of Circle punches to make my shapes. Sadly some of these circle punches are on this years retiring list. If you’re like me & love being able to quickly create a layered sentiment, or fun card front, without having to use a die cutting machine, then you’re going to want to make sure that you’ve added the following sized circle punches to your stash before they disappear….

Retiring Circles Punches are:

  • 1- 3/4 inch punch
  • 1- 1/4 inch punch
  • 3/4 inch punch

Circle punches are a basic staple in any crafting tool stash. They are perfect for the beginner crafter, right up to the avid crafter, & can be used in so many different ways. Over the years I’ve been able to collect all of the different sizes & love how easy they are to use….I’ve even got a secret to confess…some of the circle sizes on this card are punches that have previously retired, but that I find myself still using again & again. So please take my advice, & make sure you’ve added them to your stash before it’s too late.

Last but not least, the sweet Best Wishes sentiment is from the retiring Petal Palette stamp set. It’s a large double red rubber stamp set, that features a variety of useful sentiments & pretty images that can either be used as a focal point or to create soft backgrounds. It’s one of those sets that I find myself coming back to, time & again because it has so much to offer.

    1. What a creative way to showcase the retiring colours, punches and dies – simple and striking cards! I will particularly miss Berry Burst which was one of my favourites.

  1. So simple but so stunning. I love the way these three colours work together. I’m going to miss Berry Burst so much!! I particularly love the circle card, that would look fantastic in all sorts of colours or DSP.

  2. So sad! So many lovely ‘friends’ of mine retiring. You have given them a fabulous send off. You so elegant so well. x

  3. I love that you focussed on some retiring colours with your bold, clean designs. Great cards, Katrina x.

  4. Both your cards are gorgeous, I wouldnt think to put those colours together, but they work so well!

Especially the circle punch card, the colours jsut flow!! I cant bare to separate from my punches – they are so versatile!!
Thanks for participating, I will be back 🙂
