ESAD Blog Hop – Annual Catalogue Launch 2018

Welcome to the ESAD, Annual Catalogue Launch, Blog Hop.

I’ve got something a little bit different for you today using the Animal Outing stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Animal Outing Stamp Set Watercolour Rhino, from Ink Paper Girl, with Katrina Duffell Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Sydney Australia

It’s a beautiful blue rhinoceros!! I know rhino’s are usually grey, but no one said I had to stick with the norm.

If you haven’t seen this set before you can find it in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue from Stampin’ Up! ….I’ve also popped a pic below ;-).

SAVE  DOLLARS:  This stamp set has coordinating framelits dies, so no fussy cutting is necessary. Plus if you buy the stamp set, & the dies together, using the special bundle deal item number 148324, you can save 10% off the individual RRP of each item! That’s what I call a WIN in my books.

Stampin’ Up! Animal Outing Clear Mount Bundle

To create my lovely blue rhino, I stamped the image using Staz On Jet Black Ink onto a square of Shimmery White card stock. Shimmery White card stock is great for all types of colouring, including techniques that involve the use of water.

I chose Coastal Cabana as my main ink colour, then used Blueberry Bushel & Blackberry Bliss for the shadows. The last step was adding in a little bit of Lovely Lipstick (that’s the pink) for some fun.

The dreamy background is the result of a technique known as Ink Smooshing. If you haven’t tried it before,  you should try it now. It’s lots of fun, especially if you don’t mind a little bit of a mess.

Once everything was nice & dry I used the largest square framelit from the Stitched Shapes framelits to cut out my pretty rhino, before popping it up on some dimensionals on my card front!

Voila! Job Done!!

PS: I’ve got animals on the brain at the moment…we welcomed a new addition to our family yesterday in the form of a very cute Golden Retriever pup, named Maggie. We’ve been desperately wanting a puppy of our own to love & cherish forever. So I’m hoping you’ll understand if my blog posts aren’t quite as frequent, or as detailed as usual, while we help her settle into her new forever home.

Maggie – 8 weeks old
