Oh Hello there!!
How are you? What have you been up to since we last caught up?
I’ve been busy working on a couple of special projects, using some of the fabulous new stamp sets & products, that are in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2018- 2019 Annual Catalogue….& can I just say…it’s AMAZING.
So because tomorrow is Mother’s Day here in Australia, I decided I’d give you a present, & feature one of the fabulous new stamp sets in today’s blog post.
That’s right..you’re getting a sneak peek at the Abstract Impressions stamp set.
It’s a really lovely photopolymer stamp set, that has loads of potential.
You can choose to simply stamp & create some really great cards with it, just like the blue flowers in the card in the top right hand corner …….
OR…..You can let your imagination run wild & come up with something like my hand detailed, hand coloured orange roses.
Now I’m not going to lie, this card took me quite a while to complete…mostly because I was slow in deciding where & how to form my petals. Plus I am prone to procrastination & if I’m really honest I was also binge watching the TV series Broadchurch, on Netflix at the same time as colouring…I do enjoy a good TV crime drama.
I did remember to take some progress pics along the way, so that I could share them with you. You can see them below.
Top Tips: If you want to try this for yourself, let the light & dark ink colours guide you on where to place your highlights & shadows. I used Stampin’ Up! watercolour pencils in similar colours to the ink which really helped make my shading look smoother.
And here’s the finished project….
I hope I’ve inspired you to try something new with your next project…
If you’ve got any questions or comments, I’d love to hear from you, so please leave me a message in the comments box below 🙂
Much Love, K xo
